Limb lengthening surgery is one of the most popular surgeries performed in Turkey. Limb Lengthening Methods
Limb lengthening surgery can be performed with 3 techniques: LON method, Precice 2 Method, Precice Stryde Method. But today, the device used in the "Precice Styrde" method is not produced anywhere in the world and therefore it is not used anymore currently. Limb lengthening surgery is performed using the same technique and method used in this method, which is, the internal fixation technique and "The Precice 2" method. LON method is a lengthening surgery method performed by combining internal and external fixation.
LON Method
The LON (Lengthening Over Nails) method is a highly preferred limb lengthening technique in recent times due to its affordability, comfort, and safety. This method involves using both intramedullary nails and external fixators. Hence it is also referred to as the "combined limb lengthening method".
What makes the LON method unique compared to other methods is the internal nail that the surgeon places inside the bone marrow. This nail stays attached to the external fixator during the distraction (lengthening) phase, and after the lengthening is completed, the external fixators are removed with a minor surgical procedure. The internal nails remain in the bones until the newly formed bones have fully consolidated, allowing patients to resume their daily activities within 3 to 4 months after surgery.
The LON method utilizes a telescopic external fixator system made of biocompatible materials, providing both comfort and stability. This system is MRI-compatible, allowing for non-invasive monitoring during the healing process. Its minimalist design allows for easier movement and a smoother experience, enabling patients to return to their daily activities faster.
The Precice 2 Method
The Precice 2 limb lengthening system is innovative system utilizes an intramedullary nail inserted into the bone marrow, allowing for precise and controlled lengthening of the bone using an external remote control. This technique eliminates the need for external fixation, which can be uncomfortable and unattractive for patients.
One of the significant advantages of the Precice 2 system is that it offers a more comfortable and less painful experience for patients compared to traditional limb lengthening methods. The procedure is performed with small incisions, resulting in minimal surgical scars and pleasing patients with aesthetic concerns.
The Precice 2 system also reduces the risk of complications associated with limb lengthening surgery, such as infection and nonunion, as it allows for both lengthening and shortening of the bone. Once the newly formed bone is fully consolidated, typically one to two years after surgery, the nails can be removed with a minor procedure.
The Precice Stryde Method
The principles of the Precice 2 and Precice Stryde methods are similar. However, the feature that differentiates the Precice Stryde from the Precice 2 is its ability to allow patients to walk and carry their entire body weight during the lengthening phase. This feature enables patients to return to their daily lives within a few weeks after surgery.
The production of Stryde nails has been discontinued and is currently not available worldwide.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I came to travel medi on a recommendation for a breast uplift and augmentation but being only 22 I was extremely nervous and it was my first surgery also. Berat was just amazing I cannot talk higher of him! He made the whole experience every single step as seamless as possible, I was given a whole itinerary and Berat still kept me updated and went through every step I did by my side. Every consultation appointment every time I had to leave the hotel he was there with us, he is so so lovely kind caring and any question or query(not that I had many) he answered almost immediately!
I went to a different surgeon than what I was supposed to but it was the best decision ever made. Professor Mustafa Keskin is top of the game and he was absolutely brilliant and went into so much detail about every single aspect of the surgery.
I was extremely nervous about having surgery but he was amazing. Berat was with me every step of the way till I was being wheeled down for surgery! When I woke up in the morning he was there for my release and accompanied me in the car back to the hotel.
Travel Medi is an amazing company to go with, from start to finish my whole process was completely seamless and stress free. They sort everything out so all you have to do is turn up! Every time we left the hotel for a consultation or blood work our driver was there to take us wait and pick us up. Berat is a credit to Travel Medi he’s an absolute diamond! Even now I am home he is still checking in to make sure I am ok!

From the very first contact made with travelmedi the service was amazing. They were so thorough with all their questions and as a mother allowing her child at 17 years old to under go any surgery never mind surgery in another country I say I had nothing to worry about. They made great contact right up to appointment. From the first greeting at airport until the last drop bk at airport to return was excellent service. And that wasn't the end they still made contact to see how her healing process was and I honestly would recommend them to anyone. The service in turkey was for a breast reduction and from her first appointment until her last the staff were so helpful pleasant and very caring.

Honestly couldn't recommend anyone more. From start to finish I have been kept informed and reassured with everything. Any questions I had Berat answered quickly and made me feel very comfortable going forward with the surgery. I had the surgery less that a week ago and I am already massively happy with the results I have and can't wait till I am fully healed for the finished look!
