Bichectomy
Bichectomy, which can also be defined as buccal fat removal surgery, is a type of aesthetic procedure performed by removing fat pad from cheeks to give a sharp look to the facial contours. Thanks to bichectomy, the chin and cheekbones are highlighted and facial contours are made more obvious. The out-of-proportion appearance in the facial contours is eliminated thanks to bichectomy procedure, with the aim of obtaining a face shape with an inverted triangle appearance between the cheekbones and the chin also known as the triangle of youth. Facial lines are sharpened with the bichectomy operation performed to obtain the golden ratio. In this way, the patient gets a more aesthetic, attractive and young appearance.
How does bichectomy performed?
In a bichectomy surgery, main aim is to make the cheeks thinner by extracting excess fat in order to highlight the cheekbones and provide an inverted triangle look on the face. It is mostly preferred by those who have genetically facial assymetry or those who who cannot achieve the lean look no matter how much weight they lost. It is easy to remove excess fat tissue from the inner side of the cheeks and highlight the jawline. This is why this procedure is also called
A small incision is made under local anesthesia in order to remove the fat tissue from the inside of the mouth. The fat tissue is reached and then the predetermined part of this tissue is removed from the cheek. The same procedure is then applied to the other cheek. At this point, it is extremely important to put both cheeks into a symmetrical aspect. After the operation, the incisions are sutured up.
After a bichectomy procedure
It is not necessary to stay in the hospital after bichecomy. After a short rest, the patient can be discharged. Depending on the operation, antibiotics may be recommended to prevent the incision in the mouth from becoming infected. It is also important to pay good attention to the oral hygiene in order to have a proper healing process after bichectomy surgery. Brushing teeth and gargling regularly helps with the healing faster. After the procedure for a certain period of time that your doctor recommends, you should avoid eating hard food. The incisions made inside the mouth heal in one week but still it is very normal to have swelling for 2 to 3 weeks. It is helpful to apply cold compress in order to keep the swelling at a minimum level. During the healing process smoking and drinking alcohol is not recommended.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My experience with Berat at TravelMEDI was exceptional from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble any questions I may have had were answered promptly and efficiently. The treatment I received was fantastic from my surgeon to the hospital staff who were outstanding the hospital and Hotel beat anything in the UK. Where do I start? I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From the beginning until the end, Travelmedi looked after myself, my husband and even our little girl. They made us feel so comfortable and respected.

I came to travel medi on a recommendation for a breast uplift and augmentation but being only 22 I was extremely nervous and it was my first surgery also. Berat was just amazing I cannot talk higher of him! He made the whole experience every single step as seamless as possible, I was given a whole itinerary and Berat still kept me updated and went through every step I did by my side. Every consultation appointment every time I had to leave the hotel he was there with us, he is so so lovely kind caring and any question or query(not that I had many) he answered almost immediately!
I went to a different surgeon than what I was supposed to but it was the best decision ever made. Professor Mustafa Keskin is top of the game and he was absolutely brilliant and went into so much detail about every single aspect of the surgery.
I was extremely nervous about having surgery but he was amazing. Berat was with me every step of the way till I was being wheeled down for surgery! When I woke up in the morning he was there for my release and accompanied me in the car back to the hotel.
Travel Medi is an amazing company to go with, from start to finish my whole process was completely seamless and stress free. They sort everything out so all you have to do is turn up! Every time we left the hotel for a consultation or blood work our driver was there to take us wait and pick us up. Berat is a credit to Travel Medi he’s an absolute diamond! From the very first contact made with travelmedi the service was amazing. They were so thorough with all their questions and as a mother allowing her child at 17 years old to under go any surgery never mind surgery in another country I say I had nothing to worry about. They made great contact right up to appointment. From the first greeting at airport until the last drop bk at airport to return was excellent service. And that wasn't the end they still made contact to see how her healing process was and I honestly would recommend them to anyone. The service in turkey was for a breast reduction and from her first appointment until her last the staff were so helpful pleasant and very caring.

Honestly couldn't recommend anyone more. From start to finish I have been kept informed and reassured with everything. Any questions I had Berat answered quickly and made me feel very comfortable going forward with the surgery. I had the surgery less that a week ago and I am already massively happy with the results I have and can't wait till I am fully healed for the finished look!
