Back Lift
A back lift procedure can be performed on patients who have concerns over excess or sagging skin that has accumulated across their back especially after they have lost weight. No amount of diet or exercise can remove this excess skin.
A back lift is performed under general anesthesia, involves surgical incision on an area of the back where the excess skin has been accumulated. The specific size and location of the incision line will depend on how much excess skin is present and its location on the patient’s back.
Lifting surgeries can target multiple areas of the body to remove excess skin that has accumulated after a patient has lost a significant amount of weight. Some patients desire a full-body lift procedure as they have multiple areas of excess skin, for example on their abdomen, back, arms and thighs. In these cases, we also call it a mommy makeover which is exactly aimed to remove excess skin and deformities caused after giving birth.
Types of Backlift
In general, there are 3 types of back lifts performed. These are;
- Upper Back lift
- Bra Line Back Lift
- Vertical Back Lift
Upper Back Lift
On some people, their body accumulates the skin in the upper back, extending towards armpits. In this case an upper back lift is required. According to the position and weight of the excess skin, one large or two smaller incisions on each side can be made. These incisions will be made on an adequate angle to remove as much skin as possible within one go.
Bra Line Back Lift
If the patient has excess skin accumulated in the center or mid back, it is called a bra line lift for the obvious reasons. This is one of the most common back lift variations. In this technique, most of the time there is one large incision rather than two smaller ones. The incision is usually a horizontal one, just like a tummy tuck incision.
Vertical Back Lift
A vertical back lift performed can also remove the skin from the upper abdomen to contour a patient’s figure. This method is performed by making vertical incisions that will reach from the hip up to the patient’s arm bones. This technique tends to achieve less significant results than a bra line back lift but removes sagging skin across more of the body including the upper abdomen and in some specific cases can provide an indirect breast lift effect.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My experience with Berat at TravelMEDI was exceptional from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble any questions I may have had were answered promptly and efficiently. The treatment I received was fantastic from my surgeon to the hospital staff who were outstanding the hospital and Hotel beat anything in the UK. Where do I start? I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From the beginning until the end, Travelmedi looked after myself, my husband and even our little girl. They made us feel so comfortable and respected.

I came to travel medi on a recommendation for a breast uplift and augmentation but being only 22 I was extremely nervous and it was my first surgery also. Berat was just amazing I cannot talk higher of him! He made the whole experience every single step as seamless as possible, I was given a whole itinerary and Berat still kept me updated and went through every step I did by my side. Every consultation appointment every time I had to leave the hotel he was there with us, he is so so lovely kind caring and any question or query(not that I had many) he answered almost immediately!
I went to a different surgeon than what I was supposed to but it was the best decision ever made. Professor Mustafa Keskin is top of the game and he was absolutely brilliant and went into so much detail about every single aspect of the surgery.
I was extremely nervous about having surgery but he was amazing. Berat was with me every step of the way till I was being wheeled down for surgery! When I woke up in the morning he was there for my release and accompanied me in the car back to the hotel.
Travel Medi is an amazing company to go with, from start to finish my whole process was completely seamless and stress free. They sort everything out so all you have to do is turn up! Every time we left the hotel for a consultation or blood work our driver was there to take us wait and pick us up. Berat is a credit to Travel Medi he’s an absolute diamond! Even now I am home he is still checking in to make sure I am ok!

From the very first contact made with travelmedi the service was amazing. They were so thorough with all their questions and as a mother allowing her child at 17 years old to under go any surgery never mind surgery in another country I say I had nothing to worry about. They made great contact right up to appointment. From the first greeting at airport until the last drop bk at airport to return was excellent service. And that wasn't the end they still made contact to see how her healing process was and I honestly would recommend them to anyone. The service in turkey was for a breast reduction and from her first appointment until her last the staff were so helpful pleasant and very caring.

Honestly couldn't recommend anyone more. From start to finish I have been kept informed and reassured with everything. Any questions I had Berat answered quickly and made me feel very comfortable going forward with the surgery. I had the surgery less that a week ago and I am already massively happy with the results I have and can't wait till I am fully healed for the finished look! If anyone is unsure of travelling to Turkey or who to go with regarding surgey, TravelMedi is for sure the best!
